How to Make it Seamless
After setting up your tools, it’s essential to know how to prime your vehicle for the car touch-up paint so your efforts are not in vain. Know that one of the most important things you can do is to do your research before you start. Your car should be washed before beginning, and the area in question should be waxed and free of grease.
Prep the Area
Prepping the area includes sanding down or removing any rust, filling any holes or dents with putty, and applying a primer to the area. After sanding, the primer should be applied within 24 hours or you risk it not fusing with the car properly. If you leave the car longer than 24 hours after sanding, we recommend scuffing the area again lightly before applying the primer.
Use the Car Touch-Up Paint
Whether you are using a car touch-up paint pen, a spray can, or a quart of paint (or more) you acquired from one of our stores in Canada, it’s important to understand the correct methods of application. Seal it in with a Clear Coat
Using a clear coat is sometimes overlooked but is an integral part of the process. Seal in the new paint with a clear coat to protect from UV rays and to keep that coat looking fresh. You may choose to buff the area once it has dried to achieve a nice, even shine.
