If you don’t know where to look, finding your custom car paint code can seem difficult. This number is unique to each car, and looking it up online can be confusing and inaccurate. Luckily, we’ve created a simple guide to help you locate it on your car. Follow the instructions below to find your paint code easily. If you have any trouble locating it after this blog, give us a call at 1 403-346-6707, and our staff at Central Alberta Paint & Supplies can help you out. Find your car’s paint code with the information provided below.
What is a Paint Code?
Paint codes are what identify your car’s custom paint colour. This code is unique to your car’s color, which sometimes can be out of circulation at many stores. At Central Alberta Paint & Supplies (CAPS), we can take this string of numbers and letters to recreate your car’s paint as closely as we can. Using your vehicle’s paint code will help us to match and recreate your custom car paint for you.
How to Find Your Vehicle’s Paint Code
While slightly varied in placement between car makes and models, our color code guide will help you locate possible placements of the code. Often, it will appear next to the VIN (your car’s unique code to identify that exact vehicle). This tool works for both visual and written word learners, as it comes with photos of possible placements and rough ideas of what the code will look like. As an example of where the codes could be, many cars will have the code located on the sticker inside the driver’s side door jamb. On Hondas, this code could appear as “BG62M,” but on a Mazda, it could be simply “6W.” It isn’t very clear—hence the guide to help you locate the exact colour code on the vehicle you have. If you use our guide and are still unable to locate it, take a photo of the sticker you find and bring it to one of our stores. Our expert staff will be able to assess the situation and lend a helping hand.
What to Do with the Paint Code
