Locate Paint Code for Pontiac
The paint code for Pontiac is typically found in a number of places on your vehicle. Start at the rear of your Pontiac, the paint code can be on the spare tire cover or wheel well or under the mats of your trunk floor. Also at the rear, it is sometimes under the trunk lid. If after looking at the rear of your vehicle you did not find your paint color code, move to the driver side of your car where you can look at the door jamb or the left rear storage compartment inside the door. Inside your car, look in the glove box or the rear of the middle console.
On older models, the sticker will be on white paper while on newer models it will be a silver one. The Pontiac paint color codes contain both letters and numbers and even sometimes slashes.

Pontiac
Pontiac was an American automobile brand owned and manufactured by General Motors. When introduced, Pontiac was slotted above Chevrolet, but below Oldsmobile, Buick, and Cadillac in terms of luxury. By emphasizing its “Wide Track” design, it billed itself as the performance division of General Motors.
GM announced in 2008 that it would follow the same path with Pontiac as it had with Oldsmobile in 2004. It would discontinue manufacturing and marketing vehicles under the Pontiac brand by the end of 2010.

Naturally, you need precisely mixed colored paint to do a touch up paint job. But, you also need other materials. Specifically, primer is required for damage that has reached the original base material. Also, clearcoat is required to produce a thin protective layer for your paint job once dried.
WAX AND GREASE REMOVER CLOTH
Additionally, the wax and grease remover cloths remove wax, grease, and contaminants before painting.
SANDPAPER
Don’t forget that wet-sanding the affected area prior to painting removes rust and prepares the surface with a rough finish so the paint can stick better.
POLISHING COMPOUND
And finally, the polishing compound smooths everything out with to factory-grade finish.
